The Churchland High School baseball season is coming up, here are coaches and players predictions.
¨Im very confident in my team this year, I´ve got a good core,¨ said Coach Younkins. A lot of the last year players are coming back this year. ¨The biggest thing is going to be if my pitching holds up, we struggled last year with pitching and had a lot of injuries,” Said Younkins.
Younkins believes most of his past players will step up and lead their team to the playoffs again. He is really looking forward to the season and hopes they can make it to states.
¨Practices have been light,” said Younkins and players.
Most of his players had other commitments like basketball, track, and wrestling. They haven't been to baseball conditioning because of these other commitments, but the other players have been working hard though. Hopefully they are ready for this upcoming season.
¨We are looking forward to Lake Taylor just because they put us out the playoffs this past season, but our biggest rivalries will most likely be Wilson, Granby, or Lake Taylor,” Younkins stated. A CHS outfielder said, ¨ When we played Lake Taylor we just knew we were going to win because we beat them in the regular season, but they snuck up on us in the last couple of innings and we lost.¨
CHS players are ready for the season to start. They are confident they will bring championship to Churchland High School.
